It started in a design studio in Kyoto with a shared frustration.

Dr. Emiko Tanaka, a Bio-Medical Engineer, and Kaori Sato, a Product Designer, were both at the peak of their careers—and the beginning of their menopause transitions.

They found themselves in high-stakes meetings fighting back hot flashes, and lying awake at 3 AM with racing minds. The market offered them two choices: heavy pharmaceuticals with side effects, or cheap, ineffective gadgets that belonged in a junk drawer.

"We didn't want to feel like patients," says Emiko. "We wanted to feel like ourselves."
