We built Mello RIng because we refused to choose between effective relief and elegant design.
The Mello Ring Story
It started in a design studio in Kyoto with a shared frustration.
Dr. Emiko Tanaka, a Bio-Medical Engineer, and Kaori Sato, a Product Designer, were both at the peak of their careersâand the beginning of their menopause transitions.
They found themselves in high-stakes meetings fighting back hot flashes, and lying awake at 3 AM with racing minds. The market offered them two choices: heavy pharmaceuticals with side effects, or cheap, ineffective gadgets that belonged in a junk drawer.
"We didn't want to feel like patients," says Emiko. "We wanted to feel like ourselves."
So, they combined their disciplines. Emiko brought the modern science of Rare Earth Magnetotherapy, and Kaori brought the ancient wisdom of Clinical Acupressure, a technique her grandmother had taught her.
After 50 prototypes and tireless testing on their own changing bodies, they cracked the code: A medical-grade instrument disguised as a piece of jewelry.
